Andre Onana threw his gloves to the ground in frustration after the final whistle of Manchester United’s 3-3 draw against Galatasaray

After the final whistle of Manchester United’s 3-3 draw with Galatasaray, Andre Onana was seen hurling his gloves to the ground in disgust over his mistakes, which have left their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League in shambles.

Erik ten Hag’s team had taken an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, setting up an ideal start to the evening in the unpredictable surroundings of Istanbul.

However, the Cameroonian was to blame for the home team’s response prior to halftime as he was slow to respond to a free kick by Hakim Ziyech.

Scott McTominay’s goal in the 55th minute gave United their lead back, but only minutes later, Ziyech’s left-footed strike would punish Onana once more, this time utterly fluffing a meek shot from the Moroccan.

Soon after, Muhammad Kerem Akturkoglu scored Galatasaray’s equalizer from a sharp angle.

After the referee ended play, Onana, who has now been accountable for more mistakes that have resulted in goals in the competition than any other goalkeeper since the 2018–29 season, expressed his disappointment.

The 27-year-old was seen gathering these items from behind the goal, tossing his gloves to the ground and then tugging at his jersey.

The lost points can come at a high cost to United. The team is currently bottom of Group A and needs to beat Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in order to have any hope of making it to the knockout stages.

Even so, Ten Hag’s team will have to settle for a draw in the encounter that takes place on the last day of play next month between Galatasaray and Copenhagen.

United great Peter Schmeichel told CBS, “You can’t argue that the goalkeeper’s mistakes are very, very expensive.” “Every small error will be punished when you play at this level.”
