MU legend Paul Scholes criticized Andre Onana after a disastrous performance in MU’s 3-3 draw against Galatasaray in the Champions League group stage.

MU took a 3-1 lead, but Onana continued to make mistakes, helping Hakim Ziyech score from a direct free kick for the second time, shortening the score to 2-3.

Not long after, Kerem Akturkoglu broke through and launched a sharp shot to level the score at 3-3. Even though the ball went into the near corner, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper still couldn’t stop it. MU legend Paul Scholes criticized Onana after a disastrous performance against Galatasaray. He said:

“Oh, what can you say? He made a terrible mistake in Galatasaray’s second goal, Onana pushed the ball into the net. Onana makes everyone nervous, he makes the defense nervous, he makes the team nervous. Onana makes simple saves look really difficult.

Galatasaray’s third goal, he was beaten at the near post. He was at fault for all 3 goals that MU lost today. Onana’s ability to judge and choose positions is very poor, and he also looks very clumsy. It was a really bad performance.”

When asked if coach Erik ten Hag needed to take responsibility for signing Onana, Scholes continued: “Coaches have to take responsibility for all their signings. It’s a pity for Onana because in the last few weeks, especially in the Premier League, he started to play well.”
