Local schoolchildren were given an extra special tour of the Etihad Stadium as Jack Grealish unexpectedly appeared to spend time with them.
The lucky children, aged 5-8 from four schools backed by Manchester City’s charity City in the Community (CITC), unwrapped a big box blocking their path on the stadium tour to discover the £100m winger in a lifesize version of his ‘Funk-Pop’ toy. Grealish took his time talking to all of the youngsters after getting out of the package and leaving them with an autographed version of his new toy.
“I really like the design of the new toy – I think it looks like me with the beard and headband,” Grealish added. “Of course, it’s also cool that by purchasing one of these, you’re also supporting City in the Community, which is a fantastic thing.”
“I had a great time meeting the young people today.” I’ve previously attended the charity’s seminars and witnessed firsthand the effect they make in the lives of Manchester residents. It gives me great pleasure to know that the club is supporting this vital work through its Christmas campaign.”
When the kids opened the present, they discovered Manchester City sensation Jack Grealish.
In gratitude of the charity’s efforts, the club will donate £5 to the CITC for every transaction made across a variety of commodities. They have also promised to triple any donations made to the charity up to £75,000 in value.
In addition to sending gifts to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, CITC will spend the Christmas season organizing more special activities for schoolchildren and senior citizens, as well as offering £10,000 to local organizations that provide free Christmas Day meals to families in need.
