Burna Boy kept saying ‘wow’ when he first saw his house design, and I’m sure you did as well!

Burna Boy, a Grammy winner, recently moved into a seven-bedroom home in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial and artistic center, at the start of 2020. Burna’s architect, Akose Enebeli, developed the two-story Lekki estate so that he could live alone.

Burna was ecstatically “mind blown” when he saw Enebeli’s ideas for his own new home in the not-too-distant future and had multiple residences around the world. Burna is a well-known Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. “He just kept saying, ‘wow, wow, you’re bursting my brain,'” Enebeli tells AD.

Enebeli’s design is a tranquil 13,000 square foot haven in the midst of hectic Lagos, a megacity of 20 million people. The massive structure has a peaceful beige and gray façade and is supplied with all of the comforts of modern luxury living. Inside, it has high ceilings, a personal cinema, lounges, and a game area. There are also tall windows and plenty of garage space.

Enebeli and his colleagues created the 3,700 square foot building, which is divided into two portions, to optimize natural light.

In one portion, there is a recording studio, a gym, and guest artist rooms. The other is a more private room for Burna. It houses his main bedroom suite, a private patio, and a gathering spot for his closest friends.

The basement rooms, which lack doors, constitute a continuous, open environment, with one interior flowing immediately into the next. The main living area is noteworthy, since it opens to a large window overlooking the groomed gardens.

Burna was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria’s Rivers State, approximately 384 miles away. The estate as a whole evokes the serenity of the lagoons, creeks, and flora of the area. “I have a lot of Rivers stuff,” Burna says, “water noises.”That’s all. It’s really water-inspired. It’s peaceful. Nature reaches out to me.

It was preferred that the house’s inside have all-white walls. Burna bought the massive golden bug pieces, the half-horse marble sculpture, the female bust, and the Throne of Grace in Lagos. Atelier 225 created the bicycle artwork.
