After the latest Man United nightmare, Bruno Fernandes expresses his emotions about Andre Onana

Manchester United conceded “really bad goals” in a 3-3 draw with Galatasaray, according to Bruno Fernandes, and should have “done better” with at least two of them.

The Red Devils went into Wednesday night’s match knowing that a win was critical to keeping their Champions League chances alive, but Erik ten Hag’s men blew a two-goal lead in Istanbul on another frustrating night for Andre Onana.

Onana, 27, has been out of form since joining United from Inter Milan in the summer, and he was caught off guard for two of Galatasaray’s three goals. And, according to Fernandes’ post-match comments, Onana should have avoided the goals for which he was responsible.

“We conceded really bad goals,” Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney told TNT Sports after the game. We must take charge of the situations in each of them. We were on top of the game twice, and we had far too many chances to win. We were not sufficiently clinical.

“I have nothing to say. We’ve conceded two goals and there’s nothing we can do about it. We could have done better with those two goals, but they are what they are.”

“Every time we conceded a goal, we had numerous chances to score again,” he continued. We had four chances at the end of the game. We need to keep our heads up and attempt to put the best players in the best places while without taking any risks ourselves. We must prioritize the team. It was our own fault that we allowed the goals.”

Ten Hag was hesitant to criticize people after the match, instead insisting that he was “always responsible” for the outcome. He did, however, lament the errors that had been made.

“We were winning and then we lost,” he told TNT Sports. We clearly should have taken three points. This was something we done in previous games. I was delighted with how we played, but I must criticize the team since the defending was inadequate. We are up 3-1 and can’t afford any blunders because they matter.

“Each goal has its own backstory.” Whether it’s a transition moment and we don’t block the middle, or the second goal, which is a free-kick, and the third goal, we’re well-organized yet overrun. That is not possible. We must learn from this.

“I am overjoyed because you can see the team’s proactive, dynamic, and brave attitude. I was delighted with our performance since we created so many opportunities, but we also need to win this game.”
