Raheem Sterling nominated for Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month

Chelsea had been doing reasonably well in November, beating Spurs and playing off an intriguing 4-4 draw against Manchester City before last weekend’s humiliating defeat at Newcastle.

Individually, Raheem Sterling has been a standout, making a direct goal contribution in all three of our Premier League games this month, scoring against his previous team and picking up an assist against Spurs. And he struck that beautiful free kick against Newcastle, which got him a nomination for Goal of the Month as well.

Sterling has also received recognition for his overall body of effort, garnering a nomination for Player of the Month. He is the first Chelsea player nominated since Kepa Arrizabalaga in November, and the first Chelsea non-goalkeeper nominated since Mason Mount nearly two years ago, for December 2021. The times have not been kind.

The Blues forward is one of six players nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for November. Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, Luton Town’s Thomas Kaminski, Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, and Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier are also in the running.
