Who is the 21-year-old wonderkid Manchester United want to sign, who compares himself to Foden

Prior to the transfer window, Manchester United is reportedly one of the teams interested in Georgiy Sudakov, a promising player from Ukraine.

The rumors, which surfaced earlier this week from the Italian publication TuttoJuve, state Manchester United is reportedly keeping an eye on Sudakov and pose a challenge to Juventus’ own efforts to acquire the midfielder.

Here is all the information you require regarding the possible addition:

Georgiy Sudakov, 21, joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2017 after leaving Metalist Kharkiv, and he has since advanced to the main team of the Ukrainian club through their youth system.

At the age of eighteen, he made his debut in 2020 under Luis Castro. He has since played for Brighton under former manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Sudakov, who is now sporting the number 10 shirt for the team, has made 83 appearances and scored 13 goals in that time. This included a goal earlier in the season in the Champions League against Barcelona.

Sudakov is mostly an offensive midfielder, however he has also lined up on the left wing.

He has also established himself as a regular for the Ukraine under-21 team, making 20 appearances and scoring once in 12 games.

In an interview with The Telegraph earlier this year, Sudakov compared the style of his own play to that of Phil Foden and James Maddison.

How Georgiy Sudakov fits in

Attacking midfielders connected to Manchester United usually face challenges because of the anticipation that Bruno Fernandes will take precedence over them.

However, Fernandes will turn 30 next year, so United will need to find a younger backup to at least cut down on his playing time and provide him occasional rotation opportunities.

Mason Mount might grab a role, Amad might end up there, or United might turn to the transfer market.

If it is decided to hire, it makes more sense to sign a young, promising player like Sudakov than an established star. As Fernandes’ backup, Sudakov would have time to adjust to life in the Premier League and gain experience.
