Idris Elba’s journey to the Maldives, on the other hand, may have been the most breathtaking holiday.

The Hobbs & Shaw actor and his wife Sabrina sought refuge at One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives, where they stayed in an overwater villa.

Elba’s villa lies on one of the largest private islands in North Malé Atoll, with only high-stilted wooden paths leading to it.

This one-bedroom home is located above the Indian Ocean and surrounded by the ocean’s magnificent blue waves. It boasts a spacious layout that includes a living and dining area as well as a spa-like bathroom. Local and Balinese motifs are seamlessly blended into the property’s design.

The exterior of the property is magnificent, while the inside exudes a subtle feeling of serenity. Elba took use of a private infinity pool with catamaran nets that are great for lounging and blend in with the magnificent surroundings.

A separate terrace with a daybed overlooking the ocean, an outside dining area ideal for candlelit dinners, and an outdoor shower further exemplify the concept of indoor-outdoor living. The direct lagoon access was certainly the icing on the cake for the Cats star.

The English actor had a romantic private dining experience at Tapasake restaurant, relaxed at the stylish Rah Bar, cycled around the resort, and lounged on the fine sand beaches.

Elba, a soccer enthusiast, even competed in the One&Only Festive Football Tournament. He surprised other guests by performing as a DJ on New Year’s Eve, adding a special touch to an already great trip.
