Late goals from Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold meant that Mac Allister’s earlier strike was not in vain, as the Reds completed an incredible comeback to take all three points on Sunday.

Mac Allister’s debut goal for Liverpool was stunning. The Argentine let the ball bounce across his body before smashing a magnificent effort into the far top corner from range.

Bernd Leno was powerless to prevent Mac Allister’s amazing strike, which he and the Anfield fans will remember for a long time.

With his worldie, the World Cup winner accidentally smashed an Anfield record that had stood for eight years.

According to Opta’s Michael Reid, “Alexis Mac Allister’s goal travelled 26.8 yards – the longest range by a player’s first Premier League goal for Liverpool since Divock Origi v West Brom in December 2015 (32.5 yards).”

Liverpool snatched a late point at home to West Brom in a 2-2 draw during Jurgen Klopp’s debut season on Merseyside thanks to Origi’s deflected shot from distance.

Mac Allister’s strike was far superior to Origi’s and came from a much greater distance, with the midfielder possibly already earning the December Premier League Goal of the Month award.
