Manchester United fans dispute what an obviously unhappy Marcus Rashford says after being substituted against Newcastle in a viral video

Manchester United fans believe they have discovered what a visibly furious Marcus Rashford whispered to Sergio Reguilon after being substituted against Newcastle.

The Red Devils were defeated at St James’ Park as Anthony Gordon’s first-half goal gave Eddie Howe’s team the three points against their top-four rivals.

Man United’s defeat is their first since losing to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup last month.

Rashford was clearly frustrated as he was substituted by Antony in the 61st minute of the contest.

Fans took to X when Sky Sports cameras captured a brief exchange between the Manchester United winger and his teammate Reguilon.

Fans took to social media to analyse a conversation between Rashford and Sergio Reguilon

Fans flocked to social media to dissect an exchange between Rashford and Sergio Reguilon.

As Rashford walked to the bench, he turned to the loanee and whispered a remark to him, clearly disappointed.

While it is unclear what was spoken, enthusiasts have already begun analyzing the video and attempting to decode the message.

‘Did Rashford just say ‘What the f*** am I doing here?’ one fan wondered.

However, this was swiftly debunked by other fans, who responded, ‘I don’t think you know how to lip read very well’ and ‘I’m very sure he didn’t say that’.

Another fan speculated that Rashford was challenging his defense, saying, ‘What the f*** are we doing near our goal bro?’

However, one X user argued that Rashford was simply’repeating what someone in the crowd said’.

However, not everyone was participating in the lip reading study, as one fan said, ‘Have we reached the lip-reading stage on football Twitter now???’

While some Red Devils fans debated what may or may not have been uttered, others went to X to make light of the issue.

‘How am I going to travel home later in the snow?’ one joked.

‘Nope!’ said an ecstatic West Ham fan after their victory over Baka Topola. I’m a skilled lip reader, and those are his exact words: “West Ham are MASSIVE everywhere they go.” IRONS!!!!!’

While it is unclear what Rashford was saying, it is apparent that Manchester United must return to winning ways if they are not to fall behind their competitors in the fight for Europe.

They will play Chelsea next, who are having a difficult season.
