Manchester United veteran Steve Bruce chastised Marcus Rashford for his terrible on-field demeanor against Newcastle United.

The former Manchester United defender was dissatisfied with the striker’s demeanor on the field as he put in another bad performance in a 1-0 loss to Newcastle on Saturday night. Erik ten Hag put the England international on the right side, but he was pulled off shortly after the hour mark after a night to forget against the Magpies.

Bruce told Stadium Astro, “Some of the players’ body language doesn’t look right.” We’ve been talking about it, and the first thing you notice is why Marcus Rashford, who was so fantastic for England a few weeks ago, has suddenly deteriorated to what you see now. Is he unhappy playing on the right, and if so, what is the problem? We won’t know what happened behind the scenes if anything happened at all.

“When he comes off, he shows petulance, he is unhappy.” To begin with, I believe he should examine himself. It’s not just him; look at the core of the team and you’ll see that they’ve been swept away by Newcastle. That is my concern.”

Ten Hag did not publicly criticize Rashford following the game, but the Dutch manager stated that he would speak with him privately.

Among a slew of critiques, former Red Devils captain Harry Maguire defended his teammate, claiming that the 26-year-old is simply going through a slump in form.

To date, the English attacker has only scored two goals in the 2023-24 season, a far cry from his outstanding form last season, when he scored 30 goals in all competitions. Rashford is poised to return to duty against Chelsea in a key Premier League match on Wednesday.
