Former United captain Roy Keane told Sky Sports after Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Newcastle that Ten Hag is a man “under pressure.”

This isn’t anything new. Ten Hag was named the most likely contender to be the first Premier League manager to be fired this season by one UK bookmaker in early November.

According to BBC Sport, the Dutchman is on the verge of being fired by Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, may be the next manager to leave if United’s slow start to the season continues into the winter.

Despite the current discontent at Old Trafford, one unexpected statistic reveals that Ten Hag remains United’s finest manager ever.

Statistics are notoriously deceiving, but Ten Hag’s current victory % is higher than that of every prior permanent United manager (excluding interim managers).

Ten Hag has won 51 of United’s first 83 matches, giving him a win percentage of 61.45%.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s 26-year tenure as manager of Manchester United finished with a 59.67% win rate, with 895 triumphs in 1,500 games.

Jose Mourinho is third on the list, having won 58.33% of his 144 matches, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won 54.17% of his 168 games in charge.

Obviously, Ten Hag is not anywhere close to being as successful as Ferguson, who won 38 championships during his time at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag, on the other hand, has had a much more steady start at United than Ferguson.

Ferguson did not win a league title as United manager until his seventh season. The Red Devils finished 11th, second, 11th, 13th, sixth, and second in his first six league seasons.

United stuck with Ferguson, who went on to win 13 Premier League titles.

Perhaps some more patience is required…
