Maignan and his teammates have had a solid start to the season, with Stefano Pioli’s squad now sitting in third place, six points behind league leaders Inter Milan.

Since making his debut in May 2019, the former PSG prospect has gained 13 caps and surpassed Hugo Lloris as France’s first-choice keeper in recent times.

Goalkeeper Maignan is being pursued by several prominent European teams, according to the Italian news source Foot Mercato.

The Frenchman is reportedly drawing interest from England and Spain, where he was born, and PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea, and 14-time European winner Real Madrid are keeping an eye on his circumstances.

Maignan’s current Milan contract expires in the summer of 2026, but AC and the goalkeeper are actively negotiating new terms.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Rossoneri from Lille more over two years ago, is demanding a hefty pay raise after an outstanding 2022–23 campaign.

It’s understood that the player and the San Siro club are still at odds over the negotiations, which are reportedly challenging.

Should an agreement not be reached, teams such as Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils are poised to acquire Maignan’s services.

Finding a successor for goalkeeper David de Gea, who left Old Trafford as a free agent after more than ten years on the red side of Manchester, constituted a significant chunk of Man United’s summer business.

For over £50 million, Cameroon international Andre Onana moved from Inter to Old Trafford in July. Nevertheless, this season, the 27-year-old has already made a number of well-publicized mistakes.

It is believed that AC Milan would ask for roughly €70 million (£60 million) in exchange for Maignan either in the summer transfer window or in the New Year.
