The NBA awarded Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for October/November, his third time receiving the title.
Tatum, 25, averaged 27.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in the first 18 games of the season for the Celtics. He had a team-high seven double-doubles while shooting 49.4% from the field, including 36.1% from 3-point range.
He also led the NBA in plus/minus with a +168 rating, while placing fourth in minutes played with over 666, sixth in defensive rebounds with 145, and eighth in total points scored with 499.
Tatum led the Celtics to a 14-4 record at the end of November, helping them to the top of the Eastern Conference. Boston started the season 8-0 at TD Garden, only the third time in the last 30 seasons that the franchise has begun 8-0 or better at home.
Tatum earned his 10,000th career point in the Celtics’ win over the Brooklyn Nets on November 4. He joined LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and a group of Hall of Famers: Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, and Bob McAdoo as the tenth player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points before his 26th birthday.
