Sancho’s vocal criticism of manager Erik ten Hag during the September loss against Arsenal has resulted in an indefinite suspension from Man United. As a result, he has been excluded from first-team practice, and rumors have it that he may leave the squad in the winter transfer window.
Football Transfers assert in the midst of all of this that, should Sancho depart at the start of the new year, Malen might be offered to United. Recently, the Dutchman joined agency SEG, which made it easier for manager Erik ten Hag to join the Red Devils from Ajax. They also participated in the transactions involving Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat.
It’s been made clear that Dortmund is interested in re-signing Sancho and is open to the idea of splitting ways with Malen during the upcoming transfer window. Football Transfers suggest that at the beginning of 2024, United may spend money on a new striker and a new midfield player in addition to a winger.
Malen, an academy product who left Arsenal, has been connected to several Premier League teams. Given his erratic playing time at Dortmund this season, it’s possible that he’ll depart the German team when the transfer window reopens at the start of 2019.
With his versatility as a second striker and ability to play on either wing, the Netherlands star would be an excellent addition to United. His favorite spot to operate is from the right flank. Given the lackluster performances of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Facundo Pellistri in this role, United is in dire need of inventiveness.
From 18 appearances this season, the 24-year-old has contributed two assists and five goals for Dortmund. He has the speed to counterattack and is a good dribbler, thus he would fit into Ten Hag’s plans. In the upcoming window, a trade between Dortmund and Sancho would be a viable option if the latter are keen on the player.
