Sofyan Amrabat, a Manchester United midfielder, recently spoke about his problems at the start of the season and how he is adjusting to the club.
Amrabat joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan from Fiorentina for €10 million with a €25 million buyout option in the summer. The Moroccan has played in midfield and even as a left-back, but his 14 appearances across competitions have been deceptive.
Amrabat did, however, put up a strong performance in United’s 2-1 Premier League triumph over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 6. After the game, he spoke on the victory and his time at Manchester United, saying (via Manchester Evening News):
“Everyone was disappointed after we lost [against Newcastle], but I think that was the best answer we could give.”I’m pleased because we won the game, which is the most important thing, and I attempted to assist the squad. It’s understandable that my start was a little rocky. I don’t like making excuses, but I didn’t have a pre-season, which I believe is difficult for every player.”
He went on to say:
“I started with an injury, and normally you need time to adjust, but there was no time; the team needed me, so I had to jump in right away, and I’m a fighter; I’ll never say no when the manager needs me.”
“The Premier League is the strongest league in the world, but I’m happy because I’m getting stronger and better every day.” So I’m glad we won the game and I played well, but there’s still a lot to improve on and I have more to offer.”
With Casemiro out until at least Christmas due to injury, Amrabat should see more regular playing time at Manchester United.
