After Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the Premier League last night, Moroccan sensation Sofyan Amrabat gave his best performance while wearing a Manchester United shirt.

The 27-year-old’s journey with the Red Devils hasn’t started off easy. Under manager Erik ten Hag, he has alternated between the starting lineup and the bench.

He was chosen for the defensive midfield position yesterday instead of Kobbie Mainoo, and he made an impression with a commanding performance against Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez.

At Fiorentina, Amrabat performed like his former self, dominating the action in the middle of the park. He completed 62 touches at a 92% passing accuracy rate.

From a defensive perspective, he prevailed in six duels and four tackles, winning all two of his dribbling attempts. Throughout the match, the midfield player also made 11 ball recoveries.

Amrabat had one mistake that resulted in a shot on goal, but as the game progressed, he gained confidence and played fantastically in the second half.

Although the €30 million-rated star’s performance wasn’t ideal, he exuded confidence when handling the ball and should now be expected to regularly start in the starting lineup.

This weekend, the Red Devils take on Bournemouth in the Premier League, and they need to win again to gain confidence for the important games that lie ahead.

After that, United has a Champions League matchup with Bayern Munich that they absolutely must win. The fact that Copenhagen and Galatasaray split the spoils also determines their chances of advancing to the round of 16.
