Luke Shaw reveals why he liked a tweet criticizing Marcus Rashford

Luke Shaw claims that liking a social media message about Manchester United teammate Marcus Rashford was “not intentional.”

Shaw’s official X, formerly Twitter, account liked a post by Manchester United news account Centre Devils that quoted the club’s former full-back Patrice Evra.

On Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of Manchester United’s morale-boosting home triumph against Chelsea, Evra was asked about the chances of Rashford and Anthony Martial returning to Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup after the two were dropped to the bench by the Dutch manager.

“I think it will be tough for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to come back into the starting eleven,” he remarked.

Shaw’s like was noticed by a Manchester United fan account, prompting the England international to take action to dispel speculation that his activity was a dig at his teammate, who has struggled for form this season.

The left-back responded to one article stressing his potential likeness by writing, “Come on, don’t be silly, obviously not intentional.”

Scott McTominay says Manchester United must maintain standards of Chelsea win | The Independent

Ten Hag’s side returned to the top six of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

Manchester United’s Scott McTominay scored twice in a much-improved performance, and the Scottish midfielder highlighted afterwards that his team must now create consistency.

“I felt like that was a game where we had to come out and show the fans that we are completely focused on this game, that we want to play well and react.”

“But it has to be like that every week.” It can’t just be one game where we have to react. Every week, we have to come out and prove it.”
