Nicolas Jackson escapes FA punishment after grabbing Nathan Patterson, sparing the Blues star from facing retroactive disciplinary action

Nicolas Jackson got into a post-match altercation with Everton players following Chelsea’s 2-0 loss at Goodison Park, but he was not disciplined by the FA.

Chelsea : Nicolas Jackson au cœur d'une nouvelle altercation

Jackson, who was furiously arguing with players from Sean Dyche’s Toffees, grabbed Everton’s Nathan Patterson by the throat during the altercation. Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea staff had to remove Jackson from the incident.

Jackson, the striker, has escaped any backlash, though, because the event was looked into by the match authorities at the time and no more action was done.

Following the sound of the final siren at Goodison Park, Jackson squared up to a number of Everton players, notably Patterson and Amadou Onana.

Uncertainty surrounded the origin of the altercation, as Pochettino hurried him out of the fray and toward the tunnel.

He had to be pulled away from a heated confrontation by manager Mauricio Pochettino

In 15 Premier League games this season, the Senegal international has netted six goals. However, he has also received seven yellow cards and already served a one-match suspension after picking up five cautions in Chelsea’s opening six league games.

Pochettino has been pressuring his team to stop giving out “silly” yellow cards in recent weeks. He has acknowledged that he has shown his team video clips of some of the fouls they have given up in practice.

Despite Chelsea having 16 shots on goal during the game, Abdoulaye Doucoure and rising star Lewis Dobbin both scored goals for the Toffees in the second half, making it a difficult day for Chelsea in the end.

If the money is available, Pochettino is reportedly ready to purchase a striker in January. Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, who was named African Footballer of the Year on Monday night, are said to be the top candidates.
