Liverpool keeping tabs on Hoffenheim forward – the new Firmino

According to a rumor, Liverpool is one of several English teams interested in Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier.

The 21-year-old began the current season at Hoffenheim with a strong showing after spending the previous season on loan with Hannover in the German second division, where he scored seven goals in 33 games.

In fact, Beier has helped Hoffenheim climb to sixth place in the standings and just six points behind the Champions League qualification spots with six goals and four assists in 13 Bundesliga games this season.

Reporter Florian Plettenberg of Sky Deutschland asserts that Beier’s performances have not gone unnoticed, as’many major clubs from England’ have inquired about the forward’s availability and have been told about his contractual information.

According to Plettenberg, Liverpool is among the teams interested in signing the young player, who “will leave” Hoffenheim in the 2024 summer.

Beier’s contract with Hoffenheim runs through June 2027, with a reasonable €30 million (£25.7 million) release clause.

Julian Nagelsmann, the manager of the German national team, is rumored to be keeping an eye on the forward from Brandeburg, who hopes to be called up to the senior squad for Euro 2024.

With 36 goals this season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team is presently second in the Premier League behind Manchester City (38 goals). Four Reds players have scored five or more goals this season in all competitions.

It’s true that Mohamed Salah leads Liverpool’s 2023–24 scoring statistics with 14 goals, followed by Diogo Jota (eight), Darwin Nunez (seven), and Cody Gakpo (six).

Other offensive alternatives available to Klopp are Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott, and Ben Doak; but, it’s thought that Liverpool wants to strengthen their front line even more in the New Year.

Following Joe Matip’s ACL injury, the Merseysiders have also been predicted to add a new defender; however, Klopp has downplayed rumors that they may look to the January transfer window for a replacement.

Liverpool is presently leading both the Premier League and the Europa League. On Thursday, they will travel to Belgium to play Union SG in their last group match of the latter competition.
