The Miami Heat will play the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina on Monday evening.
Jimmy Butler created NBA history by rising atop the all-time scoring chart during the game.
Butler entered the evening with 14,082 career points, moving over of Thaddeus Young (14,092) and Gus Williams (14,093) for 180th place on the list.

With a 12-10 record in their first 22 games, the Heat earned the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are 4-6 in their previous ten games and most recently lost 111-99 to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Butler scored 17 points, two rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in 25 minutes of action, shooting 6/9 from the field and 1/1 from three-point range.
Following Monday’s game, the Heat will host the Hornets in Miami on Wednesday.
Butler is in his 13th NBA season, and his fifth with the Heat.
The six-time All-Star has led the team to the NBA playoffs in all four seasons and twice to the NBA championships.
Butler has previously played for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Philadelphia 76ers in addition to the Heat.
His career averages are 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, with a field goal percentage of 46.7%.
