Not good news ahead of Liverpool test: Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw get injured, Bruno Fernandes is out

After losing their fourth group match, 0-1 to table-toppers Bayern Munich, Manchester United was unable to advance to the Champions League knockout stages.

As a result, United had their poorest performance in the top European tournament in eighteen years, finishing fourth with just four points.

The Bundesliga winners barely gave the hosts a meaningful opportunity as they played well within themselves and still won.

Injury woes worsen

It hasn’t helped that manager Erik ten Hag hasn’t had a clear plan and hasn’t recruited well over the course of two seasons.

The squad has also been hindered by injuries, and it appears that things may grow worse before the club travels to Anfield to play Liverpool.

Fans have been dreading this game because of the Red Devils’ recent form, and now they may have to deal with two more injuries.

With his groin injury, Harry Maguire, who has been the team’s finest defender during this trying time, had to leave the game early in the first half.

With Jonny Evans in his place, he attempted to continue playing but was unable. Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez are already absent from United.

According to the team’s official website, Luke Shaw was experiencing hamstring pain at halftime, which prevented him from playing in the second half.

Not good news ahead of Liverpool test

Before making a choice, the manager will evaluate both of the England internationals. However, hamstring and groin injuries typically require time to heal.

During the second forty-five minutes, Diogo Dalot was forced to play on the left side of defense. Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were both left off of the matchday roster.

Bruno Fernandes, United’s captain, has already been sent off for the sixth time this season, so he won’t be playing this weekend.

Currently leading the league, Jurgen Klopp’s team is playing excellent football. Fans of United recall the terrible away day from the previous season. Is the past about to happen again? I hope not.
