’Do you want to be sacked?’: Man Utd fans Fans fury at Ten Hag after the club crashed out of European

United’s elimination from European competition followed their final Champions League group match against Bayern Munich; Erik ten Hag was further compounded in his misfortune by the injury to Harry Maguire.

Three observations as Bayern Munich beat Manchester United

United were relegated to the bottom of their group, eliminated from Europa League qualification and the Champions League with a single victory out of six contests, due to the equalizer scored by Kingsley Coman in the second half.

Although it may come as a surprise to some that United did not advance from their relatively straightforward group, the campaign’s results rendered qualification against Bayern nearly impossible; Copenhagen’s victory over Galatasaray in the other Group A match solidified that status.

However, the reaction to Maguire’s injury was perhaps the most shocking: United supporters were visibly disheartened when they saw their most effective defender hobble off in the first half grasping his groin.

With United supporters possibly appreciating his absence from the field during the summer, Maguire underwent a remarkable transformation this season, transforming himself into an almost laughingstock.

However, since then, United supporters have found Maguire impenetrable, and the loss of the 30-year-old has increased the strain and tension on Ten Hag, with some supporters continuing to turn against the Dutchman.

While some supporters expressed disapproval of Ten Hag and his strategies, others adopted a more philosophical stance regarding the present condition of United and the period of transition they have been undergoing.

Nonetheless, many United supporters could not conceal their disappointment at Maguire’s injury-related absence, especially before United’s next match against Liverpool.
