Chelsea are keen on Juventus star for just £34M in January

Journalist Fabio Santini (via TV Play) claims that the Italian team is ready to let go of the 23-year-old Serbian attacker in January. Still, no bids have been made, and it’s unclear if any clubs would be open to giving him a way out.

The striker was acquired by the Italian powerhouses for almost €80 million, but he has fallen short of the high expectations. Even though he has had a better season, his goal totals are still below expectations. In 13 league games this season, he has five goals.

Juventus paid €80 million for the Serbian player in the hopes of acquiring a prolific goalscorer, but it is evident that neither side has benefited from the deal.

Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing the striker, and he may cost up to €40 million (£34 million). Whether or not the Blues choose to make an offer for him in January will be interesting to watch.

Santini said: “Juventus would sell Vlahovic immediately, even in January. He has been a huge investment that so far has not even half paid them back. The problem is that there are no offers so it becomes difficult to think about his sale.

“He was bought for around €80m but Juventus have already put the idea out of their heads of getting that kind of money back. Until a while ago, I know of an interest from Chelsea with a €60m, but now I think Vlahovic can leave for half of what he was paid”.

Chelsea could find the 23-year-old to be a valuable alternative as they are in desperate need of a talented striker. During his tenure at Fiorentina, he was considered a world-class player, and if he can get back his form and intensity, he could be a wise long-term investment for Chelsea.

What happens next is to be seen, but Mauricio Pochettino might be the perfect manager to bring out the most in him.
