All-Star forward Jaylen Brown headed to the locker room with an ankle injury during the game.
The team has made no formal word regarding Brown’s status for the remainder of the game.
Brown has averaged 21.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 20 games, while shooting 46.2% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range.
With a 16-5 record in their first 21 games, the Celtics are the first seed in the Eastern Conference.
They are 7-3 in their previous 10 games and most recently defeated the New York Knicks at home in Boston on Friday by a score of 133-123.
Brown had 17 points, four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes of action, shooting 5/9 from the floor.
Following Tuesday’s game, the Celtics will play the Cavs (again) in Boston on Thursday night.
The Cavaliers are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference after going 13-10 in their first 23 games.
They are 6-4 in their previous ten games and most recently lost 104-94 to the Orlando Magic (on Monday in Florida).
Darius Garland led the squad with 36 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals on 11-of-23 shooting.
