Tuesday’s Champions League elimination of Manchester United included injuries to Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.
In the first half of Old Trafford’s 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich, Maguire exited the game, and Shaw was substituted at the break.
In light of Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool, United manager Erik ten Hag subsequently stated that it would require a full day to evaluate both players.
After appearing to have a groin injury, Maguire indicated he could not continue playing and was substituted in the 40th minute by Jonny Evans. Uncontested, the England center defender grasped the inside of his left leg and appeared uncomfortable.
Returning to the field, he waved to the dugout that he was unable to continue while still holding his groin.
The defender, who lost his captaincy and was demoted to the bench for United, has recently fought his way back into Ten Hag’s plans.
When Shaw was substituted by Aaron Wan-Bissaka at halftime, United’s worries were increased.
