Despite claims that Taylor Swift and Joe Alywn were no longer together, fans continue to visit her old apartment, despite the fact that she may never cross Cornelia Street again.
“Cornelia Street,” the ninth track on Taylor Swift’s seventh studio album, “Lover,” refers to an apartment she formerly owned in New York City’s West Village as well as the early phases of her romance with a man many people mistake for actor Joe Alwyn.
The apartment is only a quarter mile west of Washington Square Park and is located in one of the city’s most prestigious and expensive neighborhoods, about 15 minutes by subway from Midtown.
Swift reportedly paid Curbed $39,500 per month to rent the three-story mansion while one of her three Tribeca homes was being repaired. A year later, it was eventually sold for $11.5 million.
Despite the fact that the house is three floors, it also features a basement with a gym and an indoor pool, as well as a large rooftop patio. The mansion became available for rent in January 2023, with a monthly cost of $45,000. As of April 2023, the residence is rented for $50,000 per month.
The estate, which was originally built as a carriage house in 1870, was later converted into an extravagant 5,500-square-foot single-family residence with a drive-in garage ideal for celebrities who want to enter and exit without garnering media attention.
According to People, the majority of the windows in the building face the backyard, providing Swift with privacy while she lived there.
The main bathroom features a skylight, a glass-enclosed shower, and a marble bathtub.
Swift reportedly spent freezing fall days in the property, which had a marble hearth and wood-burning fireplace in the second-floor living room.
The dining room, which boasts a view of the West Village, opens into the freshly renovated open-concept kitchen.
The pool is 5.5 feet deep. Behind the indoor pool is a lounge area with a second fireplace and an outside patio. On the ground level, there is a gallery, a gym, and a garden.
