With Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s approval, Man United are interested in signing OGC Nice midfielder to replace Casemiro

Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, is anticipated to make more midfield acquisitions next year if he stays at the club to finish the next part of his rebuild. Casemiro might be one of the players Ten Hag looks to replace, and a deal is apparently already in the works.

After bringing Christian Eriksen to Old Trafford on a free transfer, he spent over £70 million to get Casemiro from Real Madrid.

This year, Marcel Sabitzer signed on a short-term loan in January, followed by Mason Mount’s £60 million arrival and Sofyan Amrabat’s £10 million season-long loan in the summer.

However, Ten Hag’s engine room has been one of several issues during his difficult second season at the helm.

Casemiro resembled a shell of his former self after an outstanding debut season before suffering an injury during the November international break.

The 31-year-old is said to be one of several first-team players on whom Ten Hag is eager to cash in if a fair offer comes in January or at the end of the season.

And United appear to be working on adding to Ten Hag’s squad with OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus have failed in their pursuit of Thuram and are now concerned that they have fallen behind his Premier League pursuers.

According to the article, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United have already spoken with Nice and the 22-year-old’s representation about a possible transfer.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who owns Nice and will soon take over as sporting director at Old Trafford, will be well acquainted with Thuram.

The 71-year-old may be able to leverage his contacts to entice Thuram to Manchester at the start of a new era under INEOS’ leadership.

He was on Ten Hag’s shortlist before Sir Jim won the Glazer family’s strategic review, and the INEOS founder’s entry will only help United’s chances.

According to previous reports, Nice value Thuram, who has made 60 appearances since the start of last season, at £35 million.

Nice has made an excellent start to the season, trailing Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain by just four points after 15 games.

Nice will not want to jeopardize their recent run of nine wins and one loss in the league, so a summer transfer for both Thuram and Todibo is more likely.
