Daniel Munthe Agger is a retired Danish footballer and tattoo artist. He has captained the ‘Denmark National Team’ and played as a central defender for Brndby IF and Liverpool. 

Daniel was selected ‘Danish Football Player’ of the Year in both 2007 and 2012. Daniel Agger is a passionate tattoo fan, which is why he is also a professional tattoo artist and has had tattoos done on himself. Let’s take a look at his tattoos and what they symbolize.

1. Tattoos on the chest and stomach

Tattoo: A ‘Flaming Heart with Stars’ tattoo is just inside the chain of his necklace tattoo, surrounded by patterns and ‘two birds’ soaring towards the heart. The birds are surrounded by flowers, and his neck is finished with a “chain of stars.” Daniel has a tattoo of a ‘attacking snake’ with fangs and tongue protruding on his right pec. His left pec has a tattoo of a ‘Panther’ striving to rise to the top. Daniel’s tummy is covered in “tattoos of leaves and flowers” and the “face of a Girl.”

2. ‘MOM and DAD’ Tattoo Daniel Agger’s Parents

Daniel is such a family man that he has tattoos of all of his closest relatives. Tattoos on his calves depict a heart being stabbed by an elegant blade and surrounded by flowers. The words Mom and Dad are inked on his left and right calves, respectively.

3. Tattoo ‘YNWA’

Tattoo: Each of Daniel’s right hand’s knuckles bears a letter that spells out YNWA.

Meaning: The letters mean, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and it is his loyalty tattoo to Liverpool FC where he played football. This is also the Motto of Liverpool FC.

“I’d thought about it for a long time. As I said, I feel a part of this club – and I feel a part of this city. I have been here so long now, so it was an easy decision. I am proud to be here and I think my knuckles show that.”

4. Tattoo ‘Stars and Dots’

Tattoos cover both of Daniel’s legs, but right above his Mom and Dad’s love tattoo, his legs are covered in many dots and stars, spiders, words like VSIGH, and a Biker tattoo of a skull riding a motorbike.

5. Tattoo of a ‘Viking Village’

Tattoo: In the middle of his back is a tattoo of a Viking settlement with ‘Holger Danske,’ a Danish folk legend, sitting in between the tombs of legendary monarchs. These kings represent the graves of four legendary Danish Kings, namely Gorm den Gamle (Gorm the Old), Harald Blatand (Harald ‘Bluetooth’ Gormsson), Svend Tveskaeg (Sweyn I Forkbeard), and Knud den Store (Cnut the Great), who ruled over Denmark and various parts of Europe during the 10th and 11th centuries, including England, Norway, and Sweden.
