During Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, Jamie Carragher harshly criticized one of the Red Devils’ stars.
The visitors earned an important point against their bitter rivals, who were top of the Premier League standings heading into the weekend, but both sides struggled to excite at Anfield with uninspiring attacking efforts.
Liverpool dominated possession but failed to capitalize on their chances due to a lack of quality in the final third.
Meanwhile, Manchester United defended well enough to keep the Reds at bay, but they were constantly chasing shadows in midfield, unable to gain a meaningful run of possession until the game opened up in the latter minutes.
While on commentary, Liverpool icon Carragher saw how Manchester United summer recruit Sofyan Amrabat was consistently beaten by Reds attackers in the first half.

He claimed that the midfielder ‘can’t run’ and questioned Erik ten Hag’s decision to select him.
The Liverpool great provided analysis throughout Sunday’s dull stalemate at Anfield.
The Moroccan international, on loan from Fiorentina and starting in midfield for Manchester United, was issued a yellow card in the 35th minute after pulling down Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.
Amrabat’s booking perplexed Carragher, who wondered why Erik ten Hag had put him in the engine room with Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay.
‘I’m not sure why they’re using a man-to-man strategy. ‘He [Amrabat] can’t run,’ remarked the former defender.
The Moroccan midfielder excelled with his work rate and poise during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last year, but his lack of pace has been exposed since his summer move to Old Trafford.
First-choice defensive midfielder Casemiro, who spent nine trophy-laden years at Real Madrid before joining United, was sidelined due to injury, while Bruno Fernandes was suspended for one game.
