Argentina is commemorating the one-year anniversary of their stunning World Cup win, led by Lionel Messi.
Messi marked the occasion with a series of images on his Instagram account on Monday morning.
“One year of the most beautiful craziness of my career… Unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime,” Messi posted on his social media accounts. “Happy Anniversary to all!!!”
Messi’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, also took to Instagram, writing, “Happy 18/12 Argentinians!”
So much has changed for Messi since guiding Argentina to a World Cup win over France on December 18, 2022, in Qatar.
Messi received his eighth Ballon d’Or award, which is given yearly to the finest soccer player in the world, for his World Cup performance.
He also left PSG for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, where he helped the club win its first League Cup trophy in August.
During an international match in Saudi Arabia early next year, Messi and adversary Cristiano Ronaldo will square off one more during their brilliant careers.
Messi’s Inter Miami will embark on a global preseason tour in 2024, with games scheduled in El Salvador, China, Saudi Arabia, and Japan. The following is the schedule:
- On January 19, the El Salvador national team played at the Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador.
- Al-Hilal on January 29 and Al-Nassr (Ronaldo’s Saudi-based squad) on February 1 in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season Cup.
- On February 4, Inter Miami will face a team of the greatest players from the Hong Kong First Division League in Hong Kong.
- On February 7, the team will face Vissel Kobe at Japan National Stadium.
