Even though the lead was gone in a few minutes, it was a moment that South American football history will never forget.

In the Ecuadorian Championship Final, Paez became the youngest player in history to score, furthering the records he is already setting in the early phases of what looks to be an incredible career.

With the Ecuador national team, he has already made a name for himself as a consistent starter. He plays in midfield with Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.

The teenager broke Pele’s long-held record of being the youngest player to assist on a goal in South American international football.

There are rumors that Mauricio Pochettino may soon get to see the player for the first time as he keeps getting better.

Recent reports indicated that since his domestic season in Ecuador is coming to a close, he will be working with the first team this week.

He is expected to be there at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night when the Blues return to action in their crucial EFL Cup match against Newcastle United, according to reports as well.

The young player’s talent is already apparent when compared to players like Jude Bellingham, and there’s a solid reason Chelsea supporters are eager to watch him play when he eventually breaks into the first squad in 2025.
