Donny van de Beek’s loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt is “99.9% done,” according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who exclusively offers GIVEMESPORT with the inside track on the transaction at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag, who has struggled to secure a regular part in his Red Devils squad, is scheduled to leave the club on an initial loan until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Van van Beek will be frustrated with his lack of effect at the Theatre of Dreams in little over three years and will look to relaunch his career in the Bundesliga. Manchester United enters the 2024 winter transfer window suffering in the Premier League and having already departed European competition after placing last in their Champions League group.

Van de Beek will join Manchester United from Ajax in September 2020 for a sum that may rise to £39 million. After catching the eye of some of Europe’s powerhouses during his time in Amsterdam, the 26-year-old signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

Van van Beek first drew the attention of the continent with Ajax’s spectacular journey to the Champions League semi-finals in the 2018/19 season. Despite widespread interest from around Europe, the Dutchman remained with the Eredivisie giants for another season before joining United, then managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The midfielder scored on his debut against Crystal Palace but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. Despite the club hiring former Ajax head coach ten Hag ahead of the 2022/23 season, van de Beek would only make 16 more Premier League appearances over the next three seasons.

Earlier this month, Romano claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt were the frontrunners in the race to recruit the Nijkerkerveen-born talent on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season, with Girona also keen. Three days later, the transfer expert confirmed that van de Beek had signed a verbal agreement with Frankfurt. The agreement includes a loan move until June, as well as a €15 million (£13 million) buy option. A permanent deal is not required, but the 2022 Europa League champions will pay a loan fee to Manchester United.

It could be the start of the end for van de Beek’s Premier League career, after he struggled to transfer his form from the Netherlands to England. Romano recently stated to GIVEMESPORT (3rd December) that van de Beek would be the next player to leave Manchester United.
