The Los Angeles Galaxy announced today that they had acquired striker Miguel Berry’s player rights from Atlanta United in return for LA’s natural second round pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
Berry, 26, has 11 goals and three assists in 75 career regular-season matches (40 starts) with the Columbus Crew (2021-22), D.C. United (2022), and Atlanta United (2023). During the 2023 MLS Regular Season, the forward has one goal and one assist in 27 games (10 starts) for Atlanta. Berry had eight goals and two assists in 18 games (9 starts) with Columbus during his debut season in 2021.
“We are excited to work with Miguel and look forward to adding his attacking experience to our roster,” LA Galaxy General Manager Will Kuntz stated.
After being traded from Columbus to D.C. United midway through the 2022 MLS Regular Season, the Barcelona, Spain native appeared in 14 games (8 starts) for the Black-and-Red. Berry was selected by the Columbus Crew with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft after appearing in 72 games (69 starts) for the University of San Diego (2016-19).
On December 19, 2023, the LA Galaxy acquired the player rights of forward Miguel Berry from Atlanta United in exchange for the Galaxy’s natural second round pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
