It happened in a flash. Drake hasn’t even completed refurbishing the opulent property he paid top dollar for in the Beverly Hills mountains. The resort-style paradise of the “Hold On, We’re Going Home” rapper is currently for sale on the open market for $88 million. TMZ was the first to report on the listing.
The renowned architects at KAA Design Group designed the about 25,000 square foot home for GUESS co-founder Armand Marciano over several years beginning in the late 1990s. Robbie Williams, an English musician, purchased the Tuscan-style mansion in 2015 for $33 million and refurbished the furnishings, replacing the Old World-inspired, Mediterranean-themed ones with more modern ones.
Drake paid $75 million for the massive facility from Williams and his wife Ayda Field last spring. It’s unknown what changes the rapper has made since then, but a glamorous real estate selling website shows the property looks essentially the same as it did when Williams owned it and Field regularly posted photographs of it on Instagram.
The house is accessible by gates and a long driveway and is situated in a lonely spot high in the hills above Benedict Canyon at the end of a little-known cul-de-sac. Hundreds of old oak trees and mature olive trees frame stunning views of the canyon, city, and ocean. On the property, there is an 11-car garage and a large motorcourt with lots of room for additional parking.
The newly arranged neutral rooms err on the soothingly simple side of the design spectrum. A double-height lobby with a grand staircase, a living room with two big fireplaces, a wine cellar, a gym, an elevator, a kitchen with two islands, and an upstairs master retreat with a private view balcony and a salon-style bathroom larger than several residences are among the highlights of the home. Of course, there is a staff wing and a separate guesthouse.
Everything is completely custom and most likely cost a fortune to install, including the many marble finishes and one-of-a-kind woodwork. According to the ad, the house boasts one of the largest grass fields in 90210, a full-size tennis court, an outdoor kitchen, and a “hidden” orchard, but the wide grounds and vistas steal the real estate show. The compound is situated on a nearly 20-acre tract of land, with much of it being a rugged hillside.
