Man United are already looking for a replacement for Antony as they watch £43 million former Real Madrid wonderkid

MANCHESTER UNITED are looking to replace winger Antony with former Real Madrid wonderkid Takefusa Kubo.

Antony, 22, will join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford at a fee of £85.5 million in the summer of 2022.

Takefusa Kubo is being linked with a move to Manchester United

Takefusa Kubo is rumoured to be on his way to Manchester United.

Antony has made very little impact since arriving at Old Trafford for a huge fee

Antony has had little influence since joining Manchester United with a large amount.

However, he has been a huge disappointment for the Red Devils, scoring only eight goals and giving three assists in 62 games.

In 18 games thus far this season, he has yet to provide a single goal.

And Ten Hag is already looking for a successor for the ex-Ajax star, with Manchester United sending scouts to see Kubo at least SEVEN times this season.

Kubo, 22, of Japan, spent four years at Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy before joining Real Madrid in 2019.

He never played for Los Blancos’ first team, as the club loaned him out to Mallorca, Villarreal, and Getafe.

He left the Bernabeu permanently before last season, when Real Sociedad bought him for £5.5 million.

And he’s been a revelation for the LaLiga club, with 15 goals and 13 assists in 67 games.

Napoli made a £26 million deal for him in the summer, but Sociedad turned it down.

Kubo has been sensational for Real Sociedad so far this season

Erik ten Hag could be set to replace Antony

Erik ten Hag is a possible replacement for Antony.

Because the player is under contract until 2027, the club is in a strong negotiation position.

It is claimed that they would accept a sum of around £43 million for the winger, who primarily plays on the right but can also play as a No10.

Since the start of the new season, Manchester United scouts have been present at a number of his games, including Sociedad’s goalless draw with Real Betis on Sunday, where he was voted Player of the Match.

Man United will reportedly continue to watch his improvement.

Man United might give Antony on loan as part of the agreement to sign Kubo, who has 29 caps for his country, in order to close the deal.

Sociedad finished sixth in La Liga and won their Champions League group, beating off Inter Milan, Benfica, and RB Salzburg.
