After being booed at a concert, Noel Gallagher joked that Aston Villa fans will win ‘f*** all’ this season.
The rock legend is a diehard Manchester City fan and has come on talkSPORT several times to discuss his favorite team.
Gallagher is sure that City will have another good season.
He was full of praise for Jack Grealish on his way to Champions League victory last season, and the winger has signed a contract extension with the club until 2021.
And he used the England international to tease Unai Emery’s side’s fans about their chances this season, as their former captain continues to add to his trophy collection.
Gallagher and his band, the High Flying Birds, were performing at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena over the weekend.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, he questions some jeers from the audience and believes it is because he did not play Oasis’ smash “Talk Tonight.”
“Oh, is this some Aston Villa s*** going on?” he wondered, apparently hearing a chant with some celebrating and others booing.
Gallagher then asked Villa, who are presently third in the Premier League and ahead of City, “Do you think you’re going to win the league?”
He was quick to put any Villans fans’ optimism to rest, simply saying, “You’re gonna win f*** all.”
Gallagher then made fun of Villa fans by reminding them of former player Grealish, who has won five trophies since leaving.
At a performance about Grealish, Gallagher mocked Villa fans in the audience.
The Oasis great feels the City star will win again this season.
Aston Villa are in terrific form, but Gallagher has effectively ended their chances of triumph.
“The only f****** person winning anything in Birmingham is Jack Grealish.” “The rest of you are f***ing winning.”
Grealish has had a disappointing season for City so far, scoring three goals in 19 appearances – all of which have come in his past three top-flight outings.
He was instrumental in their treble-winning campaign, and he and his teammates will be looking to replicate the accomplishment.
City are presently competing in the Club World Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and a victory over Fluminense in the final on Friday would give them their second title of the season, following the UEFA Super Cup.
