A substantial £47 million has been invested by the Red Devils in the Cameroonian goalkeeper who will replace David De Gea in the penalty area.

In 2020, it was documented that Onana designated a portion of his salary towards the construction of an electrical grid that supplied electricity to a small town in Africa.

Onana, a native of Cameroon, had no initial intention of endorsing Mengueeme, the birthplace of his mother. When he signed a £20,000-per-week contract with Ajax in 2019, he felt an obligation to repay the club. By investing his profits in a power infrastructure, Onana enabled the inhabitants of Essoessam to have access to electricity and eliminated their dependence on kerosene lamps.

Additionally, in 2016, Andre Onana founded the Andre Onana Foundation, whose mission is to aid young African children. The foundation provides assistance to those impacted by terrorist attacks, access to medical care, and improved education.

Onana’s path to success was additionally influenced by the guidance he received from the former Barcelona sensation Samuel Eto’o. At the tender age of 14, Onana commenced his footballing career at the La Masia Academy, where he was a protégé of Eto’o’s academy in Cameroon. Although Onana was appreciative of Eto’o’s assistance, her time in Catalonia was less than ideal.
