After hyping up West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen in midweek, Jurgen Klopp has been instructed to “bring the money” if he wants him.
The Hammers star traveled to Anfield for a Carabao Cup last-eight meeting, only to see the Reds run riot in a 5-1 victory. Bowen provided a wonderful consolation for West Ham, giving a moment of brilliance as he frequently does for the London club.
Outside of his Liverpool group, Klopp named him his “favorite player,” with Michail Antonio stating he was laying the groundwork for a potential move. Bowen’s future was just assured when he signed a seven-year contract with the London Stadium, and the Reds would have to spend big bucks to sign him.
“Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favorite player in the league other than his own players,” the West Ham star remarked on the Footballer’s Football Podcast. I believe he’s attempting to plant those seeds, man, he wants Jarrod.”
“He can lay the seeds all he wants, mate,” Antonio continued. Bro, the dude just signed a seven-year contract; if he wants it, he can bring the money. Who is he going to replace, because he obviously plays on the right? Are you implying anything here? “Are you going to let Salah go?”
Bowen has gone from strength to strength since joining the Hammers from Hull City few years ago. He’s on track to have his finest scoring season to date and is firmly in England manager Gareth Southgate’s thoughts.
This week, Jarrod Bowen scored at Anfield.
Liverpool has a strong attacking lineup that includes Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo. There has been talk of Salah leaving for Saudi Arabia if a large bid comes in, leaving Klopp with a significant vacancy in his frontline.
West Ham has demonstrated a willingness to let their finest players go for the appropriate price. Declan Rice was a fan favorite at the London Stadium, but the club did not stand in his way when he sought a new challenge, with Arsenal spending a club record amount to get him.
Bowen, unlike Rice, has decided not to sign a new contract with the Gunners. The current Hammers star is committed to the club and has proclaimed his love for it. “Everyone knows what this club means to me, so committing my future until 2030 means so much to me and my family,” he stated as he signed a new contract.
