Man United have lost more games before Christmas than in any season since 1930, and they have gone without a goal for the longest time in almost 30 years – statistics that put Erik ten Hag’s failed club to shame.
Manchester United’s record-breaking season continues under Erik ten Hag. Unfortunately, these are not records they can be proud of.
The Red Devils’ miserable season continued on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium, with Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus scoring in the second half.
United are now eighth in the league, eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
While the table itself is depressing, the statistics are even more so.
Ten Hag’s team has now lost 13 games in all competitions this season, more than any other season before Christmas since 1930.
Saturday’s defeat was also their 20th of the season, which hasn’t happened since 1989.
The giants also failed to score for the fourth time in a row. That last occurred in 1992.
It’s now been 336 minutes since they last scored a goal. That comes to just under seven hours.
In fact, West Ham’s Kudus has scored six more goals in the Premier League this season than the whole United striking squad (four).
