Kostas Tsimikas was injured and taken to the hospital after touchline collision with Jurgen Klopp

When Kostas Tsimikas collided with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, he went to the deck and had to be replaced against Arsenal.

Four minutes in, Gabriel’s header gave the Gunners the lead, and Mohamed Salah’s superb finish brought them level.

A few minutes later, when Arsenal attempted to launch an assault, Tsimikas and Bukayo Saka were fighting for the ball in the direction of the touchline.

Against the England international, the former lost his balance and lost the struggle, collapsing to the ground.

After that, Tsimikas ran into Klopp while descending, sending the German to the ground as well, though he quickly got back up.

But just after the hour, the Liverpool defender was seen clutching his shoulder in agony, unable to continue.

The Greece international headed immediately down the tunnel, where Joe Gomez took his position in the event that the Reds sustained yet another injury to their left back.

Andy Robertson, who hasn’t played since October due to a shoulder injury, has been replaced by Tsimikas.

Though it’s unclear when he’ll be able to rejoin the team, the 27-year-old has shown his value at left back in recent weeks.

Soon after he entered the game, Gomez had a fantastic opportunity to give Liverpool a second goal, but he sent the ball wide instead of taking a shot.

The left-back for Liverpool was unable to finish the game.

Then, it was revealed—bad news for Liverpool—that Tsimikas had been admitted to the hospital at halftime.

They managed to secure a 1-1 draw with Arsenal, although they had a great chance to earn all three points.

During a five versus two counterattack, Trent Alexander-Arnold got a feed from Salah, but his shot struck the crossbar.

Although Liverpool is now ranked second in the Premier League, Arsenal will be celebrating Christmas at the top.
