Suarez, a former Barcelona, Liverpool, Atletico de Madrid, and Ajax player, will join Miami for the 2024 season, according to the MLS club on Friday.

Beckham shared a photo of Suarez and Messi with Jordi Alba on Instagram.

“He joins a squad that is inspiring the next generation, and we look forward to seeing him take the field,” the former NFL player added.

“We are delighted to welcome world-class striker Luis Suarez to Inter Miami,” said Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas. “Luis is a fierce competitor whose winning drive embodies what we want out of our players,” he said. 

Suarez, 37, won four Liga crowns and the Champions League with Barcelona, as well as league titles with Ajax and Atletico.

He joins former Barcelona colleagues Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba in Miami.

“I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami,” Suarez said in a statement. “I can’t wait to get started, and I’m ready to put in the effort necessary to make my dream of winning more titles with this fantastic club a reality.”

Suarez was crowned Best Player and Best Striker in the Brazilian league last season for Gremio, when he scored 26 goals and assisted on 17 more in 53 appearances.

Suarez also helped Uruguay win the Copa America in 2011.

Over 283 games with Barcelona, the Uruguayan striker scored 195 goals and assisted on another 113.

In four seasons at Liverpool, he won the League Cup and scored 82 goals in 133 games, while at Atletico Madrid, he scored 34 goals in 83 appearances.
