The Reds reportedly regard the 20-year-old Belgian as a possible substitute for Mohamed Salah, particularly while Salah is representing Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.

Bakayoko is widely recognized as one of the best players in the Eredivisie. He has already appeared in nine matches and scored one goal for Belgium. The winger is worth 40 million euros according to Transfermarkt.

Bakayoko has appeared in 64 matches for PSV’s senior team, scoring 11 goals and assisting on 18 others. In 27 games in multiple tournaments during the current season, he has four goals and 13 assists.

However, due to a recent injury to their defender, Kostas Tsimikas, Liverpool’s January transfer intentions may be altered. This setback could shift the club’s attention to acquiring defensive reinforcements.
