Joshua Zirkzee, a forward for Bologna, is a target for Manchester United in January, according to German publication SPORT1.
Having scored just 18 goals in 18 games, the Red Devils are having difficulty scoring goals in the Premier League.
In the league, only Sheffield United has scored fewer goals than Manchester United. Erik ten Hag, the manager, is eager to change this by bringing in Zirkzee.
After a difficult year in which he scored just two goals in 21 games in 2022–23, the former Bayern Munich striker has seven goals and two assists in 17 Serie A games this season.
The 22-year-old, who played for Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League in 2021–22, scored 18 goals in 47 appearances. This season, he is beginning to rekindle that form.
Man United has taken notice of Zirkzee as a consequence, but they might have to spend around €30 million if they want to have a shot at signing him next month.
After scoring on his debut start for Bologna in October, journalist Suleyman Ozturk of Voetbal International asserted that “he is better than Erling Haaland at almost everything,” stating that “only the monster in him is missing.”
The Dutchman has tremendous potential and is a fantastic passer who is also powerful defensively, even though he is not quite as good as the Manchester City striker.
Zirkzee may enhance Man United’s offense with his skill set and excellent vision for goals. He enjoys dribbling and creating opportunities for his teammates through lay-offs.
Serhou Guirassy of VfB Stuttgart has also been connected to the Red Devils; however, he has shown a desire to go, thus the Old Trafford team has turned their attention to Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla.
Zirkzee has also surfaced as a target; bringing in a strong finisher next month would be crucial to Man United’s efforts to resurrect their flagging campaign.
