With Christmas fast approaching, we chatted to a number of Chelsea players from both our men’s and women’s teams to find out about their favorite holiday memories.

We spoke with Reece James, who highlighted what’s important to him during the holiday season while also sending a special Christmas message to Chelsea fans all over the world.

‘When I was growing up, a typical Christmas was all about my friends and family,’ the defender explains.

‘When I was little, I loved opening presents, and I hoped that most of them were football-related!’

‘At Christmas, one moment stands out for me. I always wanted to be a goalkeeper when I was about 10, and I got a pair of goalkeeper gloves that I always wanted.’

Before signing off, the captain wanted to offer his season’s congratulations to our fans celebrating around the world, delivering the following message…

‘The message I’d want to convey fans is that I hope everyone has a nice and pleasant Christmas with their friends and family!’ he added.

Meanwhile, Mauricio is expecting to reward fans with plenty of points throughout the holiday season.

‘This time of year is a terrific time to share with one another,’ Mauricio remarked. ‘Everyone at Chelsea does that, including the players, staff, and fans. It’s a special moment, and it’s critical that everyone has fun and stays together.

‘It’s a busy time for us with games, and we’re hoping for some wins to make it a very nice Christmas!’
