Chelsea will host Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, hoping to record a solid Premier League victory at home. The Blues recently suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which has depleted their morale ahead of their midweek meeting.

Mauricio Pochettino will use the 4-2-3-1 configuration once more and is anticipated to make some changes to his starting lineup for this game. In the final third, Christopher Nkunku is expected to lead the line for the West London giants.

Defence

After allowing two goals in his previous league appearance, ore Petrovi will play in goal for the Blues. Thiago Silva will reprise his defensive partnership at the heart of Pochettino’s backline with Benoit Badiashile as they attempt to keep things neat at the back during the game.

Malo Gusto will get a chance to shine as the right-back, while Levi Colwill will look to make an impression as the left-back. They’ll have to pick and choose when they want to join in on the attack.

Midfield

Conor Gallagher and Romeo Lavia will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they try to dominate in the center of the field. Pochettino’s assault will be led by the talented trio of Mykhailo Mudryk, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madueke. All three of them will need to work effectively together in the opponent’s half if the Blues are to win this home game.

Ian Maatsen will have to settle for a seat on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed. Both Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer, however, are suspended for this game.

Attack

Up top, Chelsea’s offense will be led by Christopher Nkunku. Following his goal-scoring cameo against Wolves last weekend, he would be anxious to challenge the Palace goal.

Armando Broja will be available for selection from the bench and could enter the game late in the fourth quarter.
