Man United are ‘100%’ in talks with Lindelof and Wan-Bissaka about new contracts

Manchester United are in contract talks with Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT how the club might use a similar strategy to when they signed Diogo Dalot to new terms earlier this year.

The Portuguese right-back committed his future to the Red Devils by signing a five-year contract for £85,000 a week, which can be extended for another year, but manager Erik ten Hag is keen to persuade other key players to sign on the dotted line as well.

Manchester United are seeking to make gains ahead of the January transfer window, when more money might be spent on reinforcements after spending around £175 million on the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Andre Onana during the summer.

Red Devils in discussions with quartet over fresh terms

According to The Sun, Ten Hag has stated that new contract talks are underway with Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial, and Hannibal Mejbri, as Manchester United do not want the quartet to leave as free agents next summer.

According to the report, the Red Devils are holding internal talks to keep them on the books despite having their worst-ever Champions League campaign, with only four points from six games and finishing bottom of a group that included Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

Manchester United are thought to be eager to reach an agreement with Lindelof, as uncertainty about his future has led to Serie A powers Juventus and AC Milan identifying him as a prospective target.

However, transfer source Dean Jones recently told GIVEMESPORT that the Sweden international does not necessarily deserve a new contract because he has failed to live up to expectations after being enticed away from Benfica for almost £30 million six years ago.

Manchester United are thought to be debating whether to use a 12-month option to extend Wan-Bissaka’s contract after talks over a better deal halted in October despite making promising progress immediately after the summer market closed.

If there are no internal developments before the end of the year, the 26-year-old will be allowed to open talks with overseas suitors, but the Red Devils will do everything they can to prevent him from leaving without a fee after paying £50 million to sign him from Crystal Palace in 2019.
