Mohamed Salah tells fans not to forget Gaza in serious Christmas message

The star of Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, sent a somber message this Christmas amidst the continuing violence in Gaza.

This season, the Egyptian has been in excellent form for the Reds, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League to help the team finish second in the league, one point behind Arsenal.

It’s still very tight at the top of the league after he scored as the Gunners held Jurgen Klopp’s team to a 1-1 draw on Merseyside on Saturday.

Salah hasn’t refrained from speaking out on the Middle East conflict and expressed his opinions in a moving Christmas letter once more.

He posted on Twitter : “Christmas is a time when families get together and celebrate. With the brutal war going on in the Middle East, especially the death and destruction in Gaza, this year we get to Christmas with very heavy hearts and we share the pain of those families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones.

“Please do not forget them and do not get used to their suffering. Merry Christmas.”

Despite a creditable draw against Arsenal, Salah vowed his side must do better if they are to keep pace in the title race. He posted on social media: “We know we can’t keep dropping points like this and we will keep fighting to do better.”

Captain Virgil van Dijk agreed, stating that Liverpool would mount a formidable push for the championship in the second half of the year. “City are a very good team as well, but Arsenal will be up there,” he stated. “We hope to be up there – we will really push them.”

Due to his trip to the Africa Cup of Nations in January, Salah will be out of commission for a few weeks. He’ll go following Liverpool’s match against Newcastle on New Year’s Day, and if Egypt advances to the championship, he might miss up to seven games.
