Manchester United made their stance clear on the prospect of Mason Greenwood returning

According to a recent rumor, Manchester United has stated their position on Mason Greenwood’s potential comeback.

Greenwood was suspended by United throughout the previous season as the team looked into his behavior internally.

The player had witnessed the charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault resulting in actual bodily damage be dismissed after a crucial witness withdrew.

After their inquiry was completed, United declared in a statement that Greenwood would never play for the team again. On transfer deadline day, he was sent on a season-long loan to the Spanish team Getafe, with his home club paying for his salary.

Greenwood has made a significant impact at Getafe even if he hasn’t yet returned to the form that made him a potential star at United.

The 22-year-old has made 15 appearances for the team, tallying five goals and dishing out four assists. Prior to the start of his loan, he had not participated in a competitive match for around 18 months.

Furthermore, Greenwood shone last weekend as Getafe secured a 3-3 draw against Atletico Madrid.

However, even if Greenwood’s play has improved, TalkSPORT said that United still has no plans for him to rejoin the team at Old Trafford.

The article also stated that United does not see a situation in which Greenwood might return and that a sale would be the most likely result when his loan period ends the following summer.

Looks like some of the biggest clubs in the world are interested in Greenwood.

TalkSPORT reported earlier this month that Barcelona had sent scouts to observe Greenwood in action this year.

Atletico Madrid is said to have been monitoring the forward’s development in the interim.

The La Liga season has been put on hold until after the New Year, meaning that Greenwood won’t be playing again until 2024.

The recent graduate of the United academy will play his next match on January 2 against Rayo Vallecano.
