Man Utd consider knock down Old Trafford and build “innovative and exciting” new stadium?

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recommended Manchester United to demolish Old Trafford and construct a new stadium that is “innovative and exciting.”

It has been recommended that Manchester United seriously explore the option of demolishing Old Trafford, their home stadium, and building a new one in its stead.

In an interview with the Telegraph, the architects overseeing Man United’s renovation project addressed this, making a strong statement to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a new minority stakeholder whose acquisition of a quarter of the team was eventually verified on Christmas Eve.

One of the most recognizable football venues in the nation, if not the entire globe, is Old Trafford, which has hosted the Red Devils for numerous memorable occasions throughout their history.

Since United has played at Old Trafford since 1910—the home of many of their greatest players—including Bobby Charlton, George Best, Eric Cantona, Wayne Rooney, and Cristiano Ronaldo—saying goodbye would surely be poignant.

However, it’s evident that MUFC needs to adapt to the 21st century in a number of ways, and switching stadiums like Arsenal, Manchester City, West Ham, and Tottenham may be a big first step.
